Our family was traveled multiple times with Austin Adventures domestically in the U.S. Our children have grown up with their trips. This was our first international trip with Active Adventures, and our first adult trip (we went the adult trip route now that our youngest is 17). The trip did not disappoint, and all of us LOVED it. Switzerland was beautiful. We felt that we explored parts of Switzerland that we would not have picked on our own. Likewise on activities - we would have never thought of doing a via ferrata, and it was AWESOME. We enjoyed mountain views from not just vehicles, but biking, hiking, and climbing. The food and lodging picks were excellent. When weather didn't cooperate as planned one day, our guides developed a really fun and creative plan B. They also came up with a great suprise activity on our last night. Small tour groups are fun, and we enjoyed the company of our fellow travellers. The trip is very active, and we were glad we were in decent physical shape. We also felt that our guides did a great job of keeping things interesting and physically challenging, yet safe and not overwhelming. Our guides also worked really hard behind the scenes so that all we needed to do was show up and have fun. Everybody in our family would rate this trip as our favorite one to date. And that is saying a lot since we have loved all our prior Austin trips. Our kids are now asking when we are doing another one.

Our trip was more than we imagined. The Inca Trail hike was extremely challenging, but our guide and porters encouraged us to keep going and the end result (Machu Picchu) was life changing!! The trip to the Amazon was extremely well planned and we were amazed not only by the wildlife, but of the knowledge that our guide was able to share with us. All of this would not have been possible without our Active Adventure guide....Salvador! We would love to travel with him again!! He was kind, patient, efficient, organized, and knowledgeable! We appreciate all of our drivers, hotel staffers, etc......but most of all....Salvador!!

What a beautiful trip- Alaska has been on my bucket list for years. The variety of activities we enjoyed along our journey was truly amazing. The hiking challenged me on a personal level, but that was what my goal was. I loved kayaking so much, and the rafting trip was exceptional. Liz and Jessi truly went out of their way to make us feel safe at all times as well as encouraged us through our journey. I can honestly say I would not have encountered a polar plunge on my own, let alone 3 polar plunges. Liz and Jessi had a gentle persuasion in challenging ourselves both on the hiking trails and our extra-curricular activities. Their personalities were so fun and they worked well together. Both of them were so professional. I appreciate all that they did to make this a trip of a lifetime for me!!

The Kenai Peninsula and Denali trip was extraordinary! The weather was great, all of the activities - Resurrection Bay Cruise where we saw humpback whales bubble feeding, puffins and sea lions and came right up to a glacier calving with lots of sea otters floating on their backs, the rafting down the Kenai River, the strenuous but fantastic hike to the Harding Icefield and then up to Denali Park, kayaking, saw the salmon running, multiple hikes with fantastic views! It couldn't have been more perfect or fun! The guides, Liz and Jessi , were professional, knowledgeable, always attentive and so much fun to hang out with.

My British Columbia trek was a lot of fun. The hiking was beautiful and the guides were excellent. All of the wildflowers and gorgeous rock formations were a bonus as well. Being out in nature with no other people around was one of the highlights as we saw no one outside of our group for 4 whole days! I would highly recommend this trip to someone looking to get away from it all.

The trip exceeded our expectations. Moose and Derrick were outstanding guides. They were knowledgeable about the area and were fun to be with.
We are looking forward to planning our next trip to the area after having such a great experience. Thank you!
